Hi I'm looking for a couple of UM1233 modulators. Does anyone know
where I can get them online?
Also, does anyone know if these are available in left and right
versions? I just stole one from my unbuilt zx81 kit and soldered one
into my zx80 to replace a broken one, only to discover that the video
out plug is on the wrong side and doesn't align with the hole in the
case. Silly mistake?

Cheers In advance

Interesting, I'd no idea they made them in left and right hand versions.

Actually I dont know if they did. I'm just assuming as I read that the
original specs for the ZX80 uses a UM1233, and the UM1233 I have
doesn't fit.

Yes, that image is exactly how mine looked after I soldered in the new
modulator. Unfortunately it doesn not align with the hole in the case.

Looking at my TS1000, the modulator case is 3 pieces of metal, a top,
bottom and a open box. INside this is the circuits. Cant you just flip
the box and put it back together?

How can that work? The pins would be sticking up in the air!

Thats why I broke it down into 3 pieces - flip the outside box (4
sides) that has the output plug on it, then put back together. you can
make the outpot go out any of 4 positions by moving the outside box
around.
